LA: You heard it here first.

JB: Dead. FOMO’s been canceled.

MC: I have loved meeting new people and I’m putting that in air quotes and following journeys and seeing joy play out on social media, which of course has plenty of pitfalls, but can bring a lot of joy and has introduced me to so many amazing women. What Instagram accounts do you two follow that are just pure fun for you to look at?

MI: I’m so happy for all of them, every single one of them, but it’s been crazy watching skaters. I had one friend [who does my] favorite Instagram stories. I think she always had roughly 10k followers. I’m sure Oumi [Janta], you’ve probably seen her, everyone knows the yellow shorts. And she wrote to me, and she said, Can we do a giveaway with my shop, Paradise? Because she wears Paradise stuff. She said, could we do a giveaway? I’m getting a lot of followers. Maybe if I hit 30k followers, we could do a giveaway of the shorts. So she’s in Germany. And I was like, totally, no worries. I sent her the shorts. By the time she wrote back—and I said, as a joke because I saw it was just going up and up and up, maybe it’ll be 50k or something like that, because I could see she’d been getting picked up—by the time she wrote back to me, she had half a million followers. It was over. And now I think she’s got a million. Oumi is the sweetest. She’s been skating. I mean, a lot of these influencers that I look at and I’m like, oh, this person has 12 million followers. And I’m oh, I’ve never seen this person before, who’s this. And then you look and you’re like, what do you do?

LA: But Oumi is a star.

MI: Oh, love her. She’s brilliant. I just love her. I just love it. And people would try to ask all of these political questions and ask her all these things. And she’s just like, I skate, I’m an amazing skater. And she is. She’s an amazing skater. And I just love that someone who really is what they are, is being loved and acknowledged for that. It made a really nice change.

LA: Jersey, what about you?

JB: I went in pretty hard in the self care thing during quarantine. Obviously I was pregnant and I was like, I’m never going to have time again. So I went pretty hard and tubs are our thing. We have tubs in all our hotels, big soaking tubs in the rooms. We have tubs in all of our houses. We’re into taking baths. And one of my good friends who just has some really beautiful and it’s not too down the rabbit hole of healing and spirituality and all the things, but she’s pretty witchy. And she promotes being your own healer versus you idolizing her and making her deity of your self wealth. It’s Mama Medicine. And she does amazing, amazing baths. And her photos are just so beautiful. She actually has a book out called Ritual Baths. And she’s done stuff with us at the lodge. I mean, it’s inspiring. And it makes you want to love yourself a little bit. And I’m pretty in to that.

LA: I’m going to follow her immediately.

JB: And then another one, if you want a really fun one, that’s more sexual wellness, but it’s all body focus. It’s not specific towards women. But their first product that they made was for women. It’s called Nakey and they made a product called Muff Masque, which is a sheet mask for your vagina. And it’s these two girls. And one of them is actually one of my best friends but they post all these questions. They’re constantly posting in their stories, surveys about how much you know about terminology and just different things and just about sexual wellness. And it’s pretty fun because you find yourself taking the survey and you’re like, dang, I don’t know what any of these things mean. What is that? And then you find out and you’re like, wow.

LA: That sounds so much better than doom scrolling, I’m sold. I need ritual baths and I need information about muff masks and it’s going to be my Instagram feed for the summer.

JB: Hey, I feel like everyone’s winning.

LA: Yeah. A hundred percent.

MC: If people want to follow you both on the internet, where can they find you?

MI: Mine’s just my name. It’s just @Marawa. M A R A W A.

JB: Yeah. Mine is also just my name, but with spelled with a Z. So it’s Jerz Banks. @JerzBanks.

MC: Amazing. I’m @OhHeyThereMere.

LA: I’m @LaleHannah.
