Lido Key’s Gulf Beach Resort Motel sells for $23.5 million


A former beach resort motel built on Lido Key during the post-World War II construction boom has been sold.

The Gulf Beach Resort Motel at 930 Benjamin Franklin Drive was sold for $23.5 million, according to a press release from Coldwell Banker Commercial and Coldwell Banker Realty, which represented the sellers. 

Coldwell Banker did not release the name of the buyer in the transaction, and the deed hasn’t yet been recorded in Sarasota County public records. Coldwell Banker did say, however, that plans include redeveloping the 2.3-acre site as a beachfront luxury condominium tower. 

The motel originally catered to the post-World War II tourist business. In 1977, it was converted into a condominium form of ownership containing 43 units.

Florida Tourism Faces Long Recovery As Unemployment Claims Rise

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A Winter Weather Travel Watch has been issued by the Allen County Department of Homeland Security.

Heavy snow that continues to fall is making roads snow-covered, slick and hazardous for travel.

Former AIADMK leader VK Sasikala was discharged on Sunday from the state-run Victoria Hospital here on recovering from Covid-19 and checked into a resort on the city’s outskirts for quarantine.

“Sasikala was discharged from the hospital in the afternoon as she completed 10 days of treatment on Saturday. She will be in quarantine at a resort (Prestige Golfshire) towards the city airport as per post-Covid  protocols,” an Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK) party source told IANS here.

For security reasons, the 66-year-old close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was given police escort.
