Governor Tom Wolf is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and encouraging employers to offer telework options if possible, as winter weather conditions are expected to worsen Monday.

“As this winter storm continues, the best plan of action is to stay home,” Gov. Wolf said. “If you are required to travel, have all the proper safety precautions in place and stay alert for rapidly changing conditions.”

Vehicle restrictions are currently in place on several Pennsylvania interstates that align with Tier 1 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) anticipates that additional

A Culinary Road Trip Through South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry

For some visitors, it’s the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. It’s romantic, haunting—even mystical, they say. Some travelers go to the Lowcountry, and to the neighboring Sea Islands of South Carolina and Georgia, for the historic sites—the plantations and battlegrounds—or to play a round on the golf courses that many have become. Others go for the food: shrimp and grits; red rice; crab boiled with corn; potatoes and sausage that form a concoction known as Frogmore stew. I went for the Gullah-Geechee people who created this food, for their stories and traditions.

It just so happens they are part

Jana Buhl has not sold many holidays in recent weeks. Normally, her customers would have booked their annual vacation with the Berlin travel agent long ago. But now they’re just seeking advice. Many do not want to make binding bookings for a trip yet. “Customers are understandably still very reluctant at the moment and are trying to book as late as possible,” Buhl told DW. Like the entire tourism industry, she is pinning great hopes on COVID-19 vaccines.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Greenville residents had mixed reactions to a CDC mask mandate that goes into effect just before midnight Tuesday, following an executive order by President Joe Biden.

The CDC order said it is a “part of a comprehensive, science-driven, U.S. government response to the COVID-19 pandemic” and requires travelers to wear a mask over the mouth and nose when traveling into or within the U.S., including on airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares. The mask requirement also applies to travelers in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and seaports, train, bus, and subway stations

Face masks are mandated on planes.

COVID-19 vaccination “passports” could be coming.

And in a rare bipartisan clampdown, President Joe Biden has retained a rule from former President Donald Trump’s tenure requiring international travelers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before boarding flights to America.

It’s a moving target, but here’s the latest on flying under the new administration.

On Jan. 21, Biden ordered mask wearing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on airplanes and in airports.

There’s rejoicing in the cockpit, said commercial pilot Dennis Tajer of Arlington Heights.
